After 20 years of practice, the question I hear most is not "how do I get rich." It's simpler — and more painful — than that.
"Master Wang, I earn decent money. But at the end of every month, there's nothing left. Where does it go?"
They've tried budgeting. They've tried investing. They've read personal finance books. And still — the money slips away.
Here's what I tell them: Your home either holds money for you — or it pushes money out. And in 80% of the homes I analyze, the home is doing the pushing.
The 5 Wealth-Draining Spots in Your Home
1. The Trash Can in Your Wealth Corner
The southeast corner of your home or main room is your primary wealth sector. In classical Bagua, this is where financial energy collects. Now ask yourself: what's in your southeast corner right now?
If there's a trash can, a laundry basket, a toilet, or a pile of clutter — you're literally telling the universe: "Put my money in the garbage."
The fix: Remove everything from that corner. Clean it thoroughly. Place a healthy green plant or a small tabletop water fountain there. Add one wealth symbol — a Pixiu figurine, a wealth bowl with coins, or a citrine crystal. Do this today.
2. Your Front Door Aligned with a Back Door or Window
In Feng Shui, chi (energy) enters through your front door. If it can see straight through to a back door, a large window, or a staircase going down — the energy rushes through without stopping. Money comes in, and immediately leaves.
The fix: Place a piece of furniture, a tall plant, a decorative screen, or a crystal between the front door and the exit point. The goal is to make the energy slow down and circulate — not shoot straight through.
3. Your Stove — Facing the Wrong Way
The kitchen stove represents your ability to generate wealth. In classical Feng Shui, the cook should be able to see the door while cooking — but not be directly in line with it. If your back is to the door while you cook, you're in a "vulnerable position" energetically. Wealth opportunities surprise you; you can't see them coming.
The fix: If you can't reposition the stove, place a mirror behind it so you can see the door's reflection while cooking. Also: keep your stove spotlessly clean. A dirty stove = blocked wealth generation. Always use all burners — not just the same one every day.
4. Leaking Faucets — Literally Leaking Money
In Feng Shui, water represents money. A dripping faucet is money slowly dripping away — every second, every day. I've entered homes where three faucets were leaking and the family was $40,000 in debt. Coincidence? In 20 years, I've stopped believing in coincidences.
The fix: Fix every leak immediately. Check bathroom, kitchen, outdoor spigots. While you're at it, close toilet lids when not in use — open toilets drain wealth energy downward.
5. Broken Items — Broken Finances
That clock that stopped working six months ago. The chair with the broken leg. The phone with the cracked screen you keep using. Every broken item in your home broadcasts a signal: "I tolerate broken things." Your finances receive that signal.
The fix: This weekend, walk through every room. Identify everything that's broken, chipped, cracked, or non-functional. Either fix it within 48 hours or remove it. This one action alone has transformed finances for dozens of my clients.
These Are General Rules. Your Home Is Specific.
Everything above is based on classical Feng Shui principles. But here's the truth: your home is unique. Your facing direction, your birth element, the year your home was built, the surrounding buildings — all of these change the diagnosis.
A generic blog post (even this one) can only give you general direction. To know exactly what's blocking YOUR wealth, you need a personalized analysis of YOUR space.
